Applications:
- Ordinary Portland Cement is predominantly used in the production of concrete. In this process, cement is mixed with aggregates (gravel and sand) and water to form a composite material that can be cast in any desired shape. When it hardens, it becomes a load-bearing element.
- Concrete can be used to construct structural elements like columns, foundations, panels, and beams or may be cast-in situ for superstructures like roads and dams. These may be supplied with concrete mixed on-site or provided as Ready-Mix Concrete made at permanent mixing sites.
- Portland cement paste (sand and water mixtures) is also used in mortars for plasters and screeds, and in grouts which is squeezed into gaps to consolidate foundations, road-beds, and other such structures.
